Style on the Road
In the magazine world, there’s something called a September issue. It’s the biggest of the year, a bold statement about what’s to come in fashion for the next twelve months. Cynically, you could say it’s the perfect way to sell ad space — and that’s true to a degree — but it’s also much more than that.
A September issue is about culture: where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re headed. That appeals to us because, well, we’re magazine people. But more than that, at the core of Wildsam is a belief that what we carry — books, albums, mementos — says something about how we move through the world.
Sure, we’re calling this Fall digital issue “Style on the Road,” but it’s really our version of a September issue. We aren’t predicting what shade of blue is going to be so hot right now. Instead, we’re turning our attention to the things that endure — the objects that can take a beating and come back even more beautiful, the pieces made by artisans and experts with love. This September issue, filtered through the eyes of Wildsam, is about the clothes that tell a story of their own.
